Born in Chennai (Madras) India, Dr. Ethirajan attended Don Bosco High School and Loyola College. He received his medical degree from the University of Madras. He completed a clinical pathology residency at Boston University Medical Center and internal medicine residency at North Shore Medical Center and Massachusetts General Hospital. Subsequent to his residency training, Dr. Ethirajan completed a hematology/oncology fellowship at UCLA and the University of Minnesota. He has been in private practice in the Kansas City area for about 15 years. In addition to hematology and medical oncology, his focus has been on familial cancers and cancer prevention. He has served in numerous leadership positions including a year as President of the Metropolitan Medical Society of Greater Kansas City in 2004. As the Chair of the Cancer Committee at Menorah Medical Center from 2001-2006, he was instrumental in Menorah being certified as a “Comprehensive Cancer Program” by the American College Of Surgeons. He is a member of AMA and the American Society of Clinical Oncology. He is married with three children who keep him busy with their activities.
