Dr. Myron has called the Kansas City metropolitan area home for most of his life with the exception of the years spent completing his undergraduate education and medical training. He completed his primary education at Pembroke Country Day School in Kansas City, Mo. and then went to the University of Michigan where he obtained a bachelor’s degree in psychology. Dr. Myron earned a medical degree from the University of Missouri Medical School in Columbia, Mo. where he also completed an internal medicine residency. He finished a two-year Clinical Oncology Fellowship at the University of Kansas Medical Center. He is board certified in Internal Medicine and Medical Oncology. He serves on the board of directors for the Center for Practical Bioethics and was a founding board member of the American Academy of Hospice and Palliative Care Physicians. Dr. Myron is a long-standing member of a number of hospital medical staffs in the area and has served in several medical staff leadership positions. An active member of numerous professional physician organizations, his professional interests include treatment of sarcoma, as well as all forms of cancer. Dr. Myron engineered the growth of Kansas City Cancer Center (KCCC) and its affiliation with US Oncology in 1994 and has since served as the President of the organization. In his practice leadership role, he ensures that KCCC’s mission of providing high quality service and care to patients and their families close to home is a part of every decision that is made. In his private practice, Dr. Myron stresses aggressive treatment protocol based on evidence-based medicine, participation in clinical trials whenever appropriate and always discusses quality of life issues with his patients.
