Dr. Custer was born in Olathe, Kansas and graduated from the University of Kansas and the University of Kansas School of Medicine. He completed a one-year internship in Internal Medicine, a two-year residency in Internal Medicine, and a two-year Hematology and Oncology Fellowship at Ohio State University Hospital. Dr. Custer is board certified in Internal Medicine and Medical Oncology. His specialty areas are solid tumors, as well as lymphoma and myeloma. He is also a member of the Kansas City Clinical Cooperative Studies Program and a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology. Dr. Custer, as a part of his practice philosophy, tries to anticipate questions that patients might have in an effort to keep them as well informed as possible. He is married and has three children who keep him busy with sports.
