Valerie completed the Family Nurse Practitioner program at University of Missouri at Kansas City where she earned an MSN degree in 1996. After earning her MSN degree, she worked in family practice for four years. In February 2001, Valerie joined Kansas City Cancer Centers. As a key player in developing the role of the oncology nurse practitioner, she actively manages anticoagulated patients, chemotherapy teaching and urgent care availability, as well as being active in corporate driven quality initiatives on genetics and nurse practitioners. Valerie has been working in the healthcare field for 30 years and spent most of the past 25 years in oncology nursing. As a lifetime resident of Kansas City, Valerie and her husband have raised three wonderful children.
