A native of Kansas City, Missouri, Nancy Washburn has been an oncology nurse since 1982. She attained her undergraduate nursing degree at Central Missouri State University in Warrensburg, Missouri. After graduation, she began her nursing career at Saint Joseph Health Center taking care of individuals with cancer and then worked at St. Luke’s Hospital Cancer Center. Nancy returned to school and completed her MSN from the University of Missouri at Kansas City in 1997. After working as a Nurse Practitioner at Providence Medical Center for two years, she joined Kansas City Cancer Center-South in November of 2000. She is nationally certified and licensed as an Adult Nurse Practitioner as well as an Advanced Oncology Nurse Practitioner. Her focus for patients is to educate and support the whole person during their cancer experience. Nancy has two sons who keep her busy with Boy Scouts, sports and other school activities.
