Jennifer Bingham returned to her passion for total patient care when she joined Kansas City Cancer Center in 2008. Jennifer earned a nursing degree from Graceland University in Lamoni, Iowa, where she was exposed to a total patient care unit for patients diagnosed with diabetes and oncology at Independence Regional Hospital in Independence, Mo. The experience was life changing for Jennifer, who enjoyed not only the physical care she was providing patients, but the emotional support as well. She later earned her Masters from the University of Kansas, and has been a nurse practitioner since 2003. Working as an oncology nurse for the former Park Lane Medical Center in Kansas City, Jennifer supervised its outpatient oncology clinic, administered in-house chemotherapy
treatments and provided teaching for nursing peers and patients. After positions with KU Medical Center’s breast oncology department and Amgen Pharmaceuticals as a Clinical Nurse Specialist she returned to patient care at KCCC’s North office. Jennifer often delivers talks to breast cancer support groups around the Kansas City region. She is a member of the national Oncology Nurses Society and its local chapter, where she served as its Director-at-Large. Jennifer has three children, and is a member of the American Foreign Exchange Program. Her family has served as a host family for high school-aged students from Bolivia and Norway.
