Brenda Lang has more than 20 years of experience as a nurse, with the majority of those years spent specializing in the field of oncology. She is a board certified Advanced Oncology Certified Nurse Practitioner.  Her nursing education began with a nursing diploma from Saint Luke’s Hospital of Nursing in 1980. She went on to earn a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from Webster University and then a Master of Science in nursing/Family Nurse Practitioner degree from the University of Kansas School of Nursing. She worked at Saint Luke’s Hospital and Georgetown Family Care on the Shawnee Mission Medical Center campus before joining Kansas City Cancer Center in 2004. Even while working in family practice, Brenda had a particular interest in oncology where she focused on primary prevention and early detection of malignancies. She has practiced in surgical and medical oncology with an emphasis in genitourinary malignancies. Brenda has authored and co-authored publications on gynecologic and urologic malignancies. She is the recipient of several awards, including the Past Presidents Lectureship Award for her presentation entitled, “Carcinogenesis in the Genitourinary System.” Brenda was born in Puerto Rico and raised in the Midwest.  She is married and has two adult children. Brenda enjoys sporting events, gardening and cooking.
