At Kansas City Cancer Center, wellness is part of our everyday treatment and protocol. Research shows that wellness strategies are effective in combating commonly reported side effects like nausea, depression, anxiety, fatigue and weight gain. Your journey at Kansas City Cancer Center incorporates a focus on wellness from day one, helping you regain strength of body and mind with the support of a Wellness Coordinator, a Registered Dietitian, and a staff dedicated to integrating wellness strategies into your care and treatment. Three Tactics, One Appoach Beyond treating cancer, the staff at KCCC is trained to care for patient needs that extend beyond disease and treatment. Our goal is to treat the whole person, not just the cancer. We know that an active lifestyle, healthy eating and attention to emotional wellbeing not only make everyone feel better; they can also improve the chances of survivorship and assist in coping with side effects. Our 3-Point Wellness Program is comprised of three essential elements: Nutrition, Mind/Body and Physical. Each is important to a patient’s physical and mental wellbeing during and after treatment.
